Argentina are about to face Poland in a Do or Die match at Stadium 974. It is the final game for both times in Group C. However, Poland are at the top of the table with 4 points, while Argentina are 2nd with three points.

Stats & Forms

Argentina were considered one of the favorites in the Qatar World Cup. They came into the World Cup with a 36-match unbeaten streak. But Saudi Arabia stunned them in the opening game as they defeated Argentina by a two-goal margin. On the same day, Poland tied their first game against Mexico.

However, Argentina made a brilliant comeback in the 2nd game, where they defeated Mexico with Messi-Magic. Poland also sealed a victory on the same day against Saudi Arabia.

Argentina faced Poland in two FIFA World Cups. However, both teams won one game each. Today’s game will be their third meeting in the FIFA World Cup.

Unfortunately, Argentina’s recent records against European teams are not good enough. In Russia World Cup in 2018, Argentina lost against Croatia in Group Stage. They also lost against France in the Round of 16.

Team News

Poland’s manager Michniewicz is likely to play with the same squad that faced Saudi Arabia. Robert Lewandowski will lead the attack with Arkadiusz Milik.

But Argentina’s manager Lionel Scaloni may change several players ahead of the Poland clash. Enzo Fernandez scored the 2nd goal for Argentina against Mexico after coming off the bench. He will be in the starting XI tonight, replacing Mac Allister. Moreover, Guido Rodriguez started against Mexico, but Leandro Parades is likely to replace him in the Poland match.

But the manager is concerned about his defense. Although Argentina kept a clean sheet against Mexico, the manager may change one or two players in the back line. This is because of the height of Poland’s player. Arkadiusz Milik is 6’2″ and Robert Lewandowski is 6’1″. Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez is the shortest defender in the EPL. He is 5’9″, which concerns the manager. Therefore, the manager may replace Lisandro Martinez to start Christian Romero.
