We witnessed a crazy and wild Saturday night for the EPL football. Table topper Arsenal had to stop their unbeaten run in the league as Everton defeated them by a one-goal margin. After a while, Wolverhampton humiliated English giant Liverpool at Molineux Stadium. On the night of the two giants’ downfall, Manchester United, however, survived. They earned a hard-fought victory against Crystal Palace.
Arsenal lost to Everton
Arsenal have been at the top of the table for weeks, whereas Everton were at the bottom. It was expected that Arsenal would smash Everton at Goodison Park. But in EPL, you never know what’s coming ahead. And this is the beauty of EPL. Everton, who were struggling in the relegation zone, stunned the table topper last night.
Arsenal kept more possession, more than the double of Everton. But they failed to find the net in the first half. However, the home team looked dangerous in the set pieces, and guess what? They scored in the 60th minute from a corner kick. This one and only goal were enough to beat Arsenal at Goodison Park.
However, Arsenal are still at the top, five points ahead of Manchester City. But this massive victory moved Everton to 18th place.
Liverpool’s struggle continues
This season has been a disaster for Liverpool FC. Last night, Wolverhampton humiliated the Klopp boys at Molineux Stadium. Liverpool have been desperately seeking a victory as they have won only one of their previous five matches in the EPL.
But the Wolves hit them early in the match. In the 5th minute, Liverpool conceded a goal as Joel Matip scored an own-goal. The home team didn’t take much time to double their lead. Craig Dawson doubled the lead for the Wolves as he found the net in the 12th minute.
After that, Liverpool tried hard but failed to score. Moreover, the Wolves got their third one as Ruben Neves found the net in the 71st minute. Liverpool, however, couldn’t score in the remaining minutes, resulting in a humiliating defeat at Molineux Stadium.
Manchester United beat Crystal Palace
Manchester United are unstoppable at Old Trafford. They have extended their winning run to 13 at home ground. Last night, they defeated Crystal Palace by a 2-1 margin.
The first goal came in the early of the match as Bruno Fernandes scored in the 7th minute from a penalty kick. After that, both teams failed to score more in the first half despite trying hard.
However, Rashford doubled the lead in the second half, scoring his 10th EPL goal this season. But the Red Devils had gone under tremendous pressure when Casemiro was sent off in the 70th minute.
Crystal Palace took that opportunity and scored a goal in the 76th minute. At this point, Crystal Palace seemed they would find the equalizer. But Manchester United defended well with ten men and sealed 13 consecutive home victories.
