The UEFA and the CONMEBOL have decided to arrange a match between the Euro Champion and the Copa America Champion. FIFA has already declared that the winner of this match will get a trophy which will be considered an international trophy. This match will be called Finalissima.

Argentina, the champion of Copa America, will face the Euro champion, Italy, in Finalissima on the second of June at a neutral stadium, Wembly. It will be a great chance for both teams to win another international trophy.

Argentina have won an international trophy (Copa America) after a long 28 years, which was also the first international trophy in Messi’s career. In the Copa America’s final, Angel Di Maria scored the only goal of the match to beat Brazil. That goal earned a trophy for Argentina after ages.

On the other hand, Italy defeated England by penalty shoot-out in the final of Euro 2022. But the saddest thing is that the champion of Europe has failed to qualify for the Qatar World Cup. Moreover, Italy also missed the previous World Cup in 2018. Despite this frustration, Italy are looking forward to winning the Finalissima. In addition, they are also preparing for the UEFA Nations League, which will start on June 1.

Team News

Argentina trained in Spain ahead of the clash against Italy. However, the Albiceleste has arrived in England today. Lionel Messi will lead Argentina in Finalissima. Lionel Scaloni, the manager of Argentina, has plenty of options to make a strong squad against the Euro champion.

In the front, Leo Messi will lead that area with Lautaro Martinez and Di Maria. However, the manager can also make changes in that area. But this trio is likely to start against Italy. Rodrigo De Paul, Lo Celso, and Guido Rodriguez could be in the starting XI.

Nicholas Otamendi and Christian Romero are the favorites to start in the center-back. The manager can trust Acuna and Molina in the full-back position. Furthermore, Emi Martinez is a natural choice to play as the goalkeeper.

On Italy’s side, Goerge Chiellini will retire from football with the match against Argentina. He will play his last game along with Bonucci in the defense. However, the manager could play Insigne with Scamacca in the front. Here is the possible lineup for Italy: Donnarumma, Di Lorenzo, Chiellini, Bonucci, Emerson, Jorginho, Barella, Veratti, Zaniolo, Scamacca, and Insigne.
