Argentina are very close to breaking the unbeaten run of Italy. They need just two games to break this record. Today, the Albiceleste beat Jamaica at the Red Bull Arena and have extended their winning streak to 35 matches. However, Lionel Messi showed his class once again as he scored twice after coming off the bench in the second half.

Argentina have come to the USA to play two matches as part of their World Cup preparation. The Albiceleste have played their final match today before the Qatar World Cup. They faced Jamaica at the Red Bull Arena, where the manager made several changes in the squad. He benched Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Lisandro Martinez. Moreover, the Argentine boss played Angel di Maria and Julian Alvarez with Lautaro Martinez in the front. 

However, Argentina didn’t have to wait much to find the net without Messi and De Paul. In the 13th minute, Argentina took the lead as Man City forward Julian Alvarez scored a stunning goal from Lautaro’s assist. After that, Jamaica tried hard to find the equalizer. But Argentine defenders were rock solid on the back.

Lionel Scaloni deployed Lionel Messi in the 56th minute, replacing Lautaro Martinez. And guess what? Messi, the greatest of all time, changed the entire scenario. He created so many chances after coming into the pitch. In the 86th minute, Lionel Messi scored a stunning goal from outside the box. He scored his second goal within three minutes. This time, the Argentine scored that goal from a free kick. Therefore, Argentina won the match by a three-goal margin. They will start their world cup journey with 35 matches unbeaten streak.

Lionel Scaloni has renewed his contract with Argentina.

Argentine boss Lionel Scaloni has renewed his contract with Argentina national team, which will keep him until 2026. While speaking at the press conference, Scaloni said, “I want to continue, who doesn’t want to do it in the Argentine National Team? I have the best relationship with the president, and we met today. Everything is on track. I am grateful to the president and the people who supported us until the last day they will be with us. Whatever it has to be in the World Cup, but we are going to leave until the last drop of sweat.”
