Arsenal are flying in the English Premier League. They are now seven points clear of the second placed, Newcastle United. Last night, The Gunners returned to the EPL with a great victory. Despite conceding the goal first, Arsenal won the match against West Ham United by a 3-1 margin.

As it happened

Arsenal welcomed West Ham United at Emirates Stadium on their returning match in the EPL. Arsenal boss Mike Arteta didn’t want to lose any points at this stage as Arsenal are going close to the title. So, he deployed his best possible XI at Emirates Stadium. Arteta set up the team formation with 4-3-3, where Gabriel Martinelli led the attack with Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka. As for West Ham United, manager David Moyes played his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

As the home team, Arsenal were dominating the visitors with a massive crowd. They highly pushed West Ham United to create chances. But The Hammers stunned the home team early in the match. In the 26th minute, Arsenal’s defender Saliba fouled Michail Antonio inside the box. Therefore, the match referee offered a penalty kick to West Ham United, and Said Benrahma scored from that.

Conceding two goals in ten minutes, West Ham United became vulnerable. Arsenal’s forwards easily broke their defensive line in the 2nd half. Furthermore, Arsenal doubled their lead in the 69th minute as Eddie Nketiah, who came into the team as the replacement for Gabriel Jesus, scored with Odegaard’s assist. West Ham United couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. Therefore, The Gunners won the match and packed full three points at Emirates Stadium.
