Match Report

A new season of the English Premier League is about to begin, and every team is preparing for it. Arsenal have faced Chelsea as part of their pre-season preparation. However, Gunner boss Mikel Arteta set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1. He played Gabriel Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Man City. On the other hand, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel also played his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation. He deployed his new player, Raheem Sterling, in this match.

However, Arsenal tried to be dominating from the beginning of the match. They created many chances in the first half. So, they didn’t need much time to take the lead. In the 15th minute, Arsenal scored a brilliant goal as Gabriel Jesus found the net for the gunners. That was his fourth goal for Arsenal in the pre-season period.

Conceding the goal, Chelsea tried hard to get back into the match. They became desperate to find the equalizer. Although Chelsea created some good chances, they failed to find the net because of poor finishing. Moreover, Chelsea conceded another one in the first half. This time, Martin Odegaard doubled the lead for Arsenal. He scored a goal in the 36th minute. However, both teams couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. So, the first half ended in 2-0.

Returning from the break, Arsenal kept pressing the opponent. Their two wingers were very threatening in the 2nd half. And guess what? Bukayo Saka found the net in the 66th minute. Chelsea, then, had no chance to overcome. They lost track and played unorganized football after conceding three goals. In addition, Arsenal scored their fourth goal in injury time. Midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga scored that goal in the 92nd minute. As a result, Arsenal won this match with a great margin of 4-0.
