Match Report

Last night, Chelsea welcomed Arsenal at their home ground, Stamford Bridge. Before this game, Arsenal had lost three matches in a row. So there was no other way than winning the clash for the Gunners to keep the hope of the top four alive. Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, played his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation.  In this match, the manager deployed Eddie Nketiah as the center forward in the absence of Lacazatte. However, the Chelsea boss set up his team formation with 3-4-1-2.

As the home team, Chelsea tried to dominate from the beginning of the match. But Arsenal stunned them with an early goal. In the 13th minute, Eddie Nketiah scored a goal as Christiansen made an error while passing the ball toward the goalkeeper. However, the home team didn’t take much time to equalize. Within four minutes, Chelsea leveled the score with the visitors as  Timo Werner found the net for the Blues.

Scoring the goal, Chelsea accelerated their pace of attack. But Arsenal looked very threatening whenever they got the ball. In the 27th minute, Arsenal took the lead again from a beautiful counter-attack. Smith Rowe beat Chelsea’s goalkeeper to find the net. However, the home team kept trying to equalize again. In response, the skipper found the net for Chelsea in the 32nd minute. So, the first half ended in all squares.

Returning from the break, the home team looked a bit shaky. They somehow lost the tempo of the match. The visitors took that advantage and scored again. Eddie Nketiah, who scored the first one, netted the third goal for Arsenal in the 57th minute. Moreover, Arsenal got a penalty kick at the last moment of the match, from which Bukayo Saka scored the goal successfully. As a result, Chelsea lost another game at their home ground.
