Bangladesh have traveled to the UAE to play a two-match T20 series as part of their upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Bangladesh won the first match earlier, but they sealed the series last night by defeating the home team at the Dubai International Stadium. Last night, Bangladesh beat the UAE by 32 runs to seal the series. Mehedy Hasan Miraz received the Player of the Match award for his brilliant performance both in the ball and bat.
CP Rizwan, the captain of the UAE, won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 2nd match. So, Bangladesh started the batting innings with Mehedy Hasan Miraz and Sabbir Rahman. Sabbir Rahman has returned to the National team after a long time with this series. But he hasn’t performed well in both matches. With Miraz, Sabbir Rahman added 27 runs in the opening partnership. After that, he lost his wicket after scoring 12 runs only.
Then Mehedy Hasan tried to tackle the situation with Liton Kumar Das. Both batsmen seemed very confident on the crease. They made a partnership of 41 runs for the team. Unfortunately, their partnership broke in the 9th over as Liton Kumar Das lost his wicket to Aayan Afzal Khan. Liton scored 25 off 20 before leaving the pitch.
Afif Hossain and Mossaddek Hossain contributed 18 and 27 runs in the middle order. But, Yasir Ali played a vital role in the lower order. He picked up some quick runs for Bangladesh. He scored 21 runs from 13 balls only. In addition, Nurul Hasan remained not out in 19 runs. Relying on these runs, Bangladesh ended their innings in 169 runs.
Chasing the target, the home team failed to get a good start. They lost their first wicket in the 3rd over. Bangladeshi spinner Nasum Ahmed picked up Chirag Suri in the 3rd over. The following two batsmen also failed to contribute much to the team. Due to the aggression of Bangladeshi bowlers, the UAE lost four wickets in 29 runs.
After that, skipper CP Rizwan made a fantastic partnership with Basil Hameed. They added 90 runs together on the scoreboard. At this point, it seemed the UAE could win the game. But Ebadath Hossain broke their partnership by taking the wicket of Basil Hameed. The home team couldn’t fight back after losing this wicket. They ended their innings in 137 runs. Therefore, Bangladesh won the 2nd T20 by 32 runs.
