Barcelona’s brilliant form continues in La Liga

FC Barcelona are flying in the La Liga under the new manager, Xavi Hernandes. The team has scored four goals per match in their previous three games, scoring 12 goals. They conceded only three goals in these games. Last night, Barcelona faced Athletic Club at Camp Nou, where they scored four goals. With 45 points, the Blaugrana are in the 4th at the point table.

Barcelona hosted the league match against Athletic Club at Camp Nou. In this match, the Barca manager Xavi Hernandez set up the team formation with 4-3-3. Xavi is trying to rebuild the team with the new signings. Therefore, he kept Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, and Adama Traore in starting XI. Pedri and Gavi were the two young players he used in midfield, along with Sergio Busquets. On the other side, the Athletic manager played his team in a 4-4-2 formation.

The home team tried to control the match from the start. They kept more possession on the ball in the entire game. However, Barcelona waited until 37 minutes to score the first goal. In the 37th minute, the home team took the lead as new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the goal. It is his fifth goal for the club. Anyway, both teams didn’t score in the remaining minutes of the first half. As a result, Barcelona went to the break with a one-goal lead.

Xavi Hernandez made some changes in the second half. He substituted Ferran Torres with Ousmane Dembele in the 67th minute, and guess what? Dembele scored within six minutes. With his goal, the home team doubled the lead in the 73rd minute of the game. After that, the home team manager deployed Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong, replacing Traore and Aubameyang. Surprisingly, both players scored twice at the very last moment. De Jong netted the ball in the 90th minute for Barcelona. After a few minutes, Memphis Depay scored the 4th goal in the injury time. As a result, the home team won the match and moved closer to the third team in the league table, Real Betis.
