Benzema’s hat-trick sinks Paris Saint-Germain

What a game of football we have witnessed last night! Real Madrid, the 13-time UCL winner, completed an outstanding comeback against PSG. Despite falling two goals behind by aggregate, they won the match. Karim Benzema fired up in the second half to keep Real Madrid in the game. His brilliant hat-trick has saved the Spanish giant and eliminated Paris Saint-German. As a result, the Los Blancos secured their place in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.

Last night, PSG came to Madrid to play the second leg of the Round of 16 in the UCL. They were in a comfort zone as they had a one-goal lead against the Ancelotti boys in the first leg. On the other hand, Real Madrid had to win the match with at least a 1-0 margin to qualify for the quarter-final. The Santiago Bernabeu is filled with thousands of fans showing their support for Real Madrid.

In this match, the home team manager set up the team formation with 4-3-3. As Casemiro was unavailable due to injury, Ancelotti deployed Federico Valverde in the midfield with Luka Modric and Tony Kroos. In the front, the manager used Marco Asensio and Vinicius Junior along with Karim Benzema. On the other hand, Pochettino, the manager of PSG, deployed his best XI against the Los Blancos. Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe, the world’s most valuable trio, were present in this game.

The visitors dominated in the first half. They had more possession on the ball. In the 34th minute, Mbabbe scored a goal for PSG. But the match referee ruled it out because of off-side after checking the VAR. After a while, the visitors took the lead as Kylian Mbappe scored again in the 39th minute. Real Madrid couldn’t return a goal in the first half. So, the first half ended in 1-0.

Returning from the break, PSG somehow lost their tempo on the game. Real Madrid took that advantage. They played comparatively much better in the second half. In the 61st minute, Karim Benzema scored a goal for the Los Blancos. Scoring the first goal, the home team became more aggressive. Besides, Paris Saint-Germain became very sloppy in the defense as well as in the midfield. As a result, Madrid scored another goal as Benzema hit again in the 76th minute. Within two minutes, Benzema netted the ball again and completed his hat-trick. The visitors couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. So, Real Madrid won the match and have qualified for the quarter-final.
