After losing the first three consecutive matches in the Bangladesh Premier League, Comilla Victorians have recovered brilliantly. They have won three straight games, which keeps the semi-final hopes alive. Today, The Victorians defeated The Dhaka Dominators by 33 runs.

This victory sees Comilla Victorian in 3rd place in the league table, while Dhaka Dominators are struggling at the bottom of the table with two points only.

Toss: Nasir Hossain, the Captain of Dhaka Dominators, won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Liton failed, but Rizwan carried the team

After losing the toss, Comilla Victorians had to start the batting innings. Therefore, Liton Kumar Das and Mohammad Rizwan came into the pitch to begin the match for Comilla. Liton Kumar has been getting runs throughout the tournament. But today, he failed to score. Pacer Taskin Ahmed picked him up in the very first over.

However, Pakistani batter Mohammad Rizwan handled the situation smartly. He made a brilliant partnership of 47 runs with the skipper, Imrul Kayes. Their partnership was looking good, but Imrul Kayes lost his wicket in the 8th over after scoring 33 runs.

Johnson Charles, the following batter, also failed to score more than 20 runs. However, Khushdil Shah played a destroyer in the middle order. He was super aggressive on the pitch. The Pakistani batter hit five sixes and seven boundaries during his destroying innings.

From only 24 balls, Khushdil Shah scored the highest 64 runs for the Victorians. On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan remained not out in 55 runs. Relying on these two Pakistani batters, Comilla Victorian ended their innings with 184 runs.

Dhaka’s top order failed to get a good start

Chasing the massive target, the top-order batters of Dhaka Dominators failed to get a good start. Two of the first three batters had gone duck in this match.

However, Mohammad Mithun and Nasir Hossain tried hard to tackle the disaster. They also made a partnership of 51 runs, but it was not enough. Mohammad Mithun lost his wicket to Mosaddek Hossain after scoring 36.

But the captain kept going. With Ariful Haque, Nasir Hossain added 65 more runs to the scoreboard. Nasir remained not out in 66 runs, but it helped nothing to win the match. Their innings ended with 151 runs. Therefore, Comilla Victorians won the match by 33 runs and kept the semifinal hopes alive.
