However, English batter Dawid Malan tackled the initial disaster with Saikat Ali. Dawid Malan was a bit slow than Saikat Ali. Besides, Saikat Ali tried to hit boundaries from the very first ball. He hit four boundaries but couldn’t score more than 20 runs. On the other hand, skipper Imrul Kayes departed the pitch in the following over.
But Jakir Ali played a vital role for Comilla. With Dawid Malan, he made a partnership of 53 runs for the Victorians. However, Malan lost his wicket after scoring 37 runs, but Jakir Ali didn’t miss the half-century. He remained not out in 57 runs. Relying on his bat, Comilla ended their innings with 149 runs.
Chasing the target, Sylhet Strikers had a poor start. They lost the first wicket in the 2nd over as Mohammad Haris departed the pitch after scoring six runs.
But Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy superbly handle the situation. They made a brilliant partnership of 43 runs for the Strikers. Although Najmul departed with 19 runs, Towhid Hridoy continued scoring runs.
Towhid Hridoy has been brilliant so far. He got his back-to-back half-centuries. His 56 off 37 balls led Sylhet Strikers toward the target. Before losing the wicket to Khushdil Shah, Hridoy hit four sixes and three fours.
However, Mushfiqur Rahim and Zakir Hasan then chased the target comfortably. Zakir Hasan added 20 runs, while Mushfiq remained not out with 28 runs. Relying on their bat, Sylhet Strikers beat Comilla Victorians by five wickets.
