Match Report

Faf Du Plessis, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, won the toss and decided to bowl first. As a result, Rituraj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa started the batting innings for Chennai Super Kings. They were a little bit slow on the pitch. Rituraj Gaikwad also looked uncomfortable facing the bowlers of the RCB. As a result of that, he lost the wicket to Josh Hazlewood in the 4th over. Before his departure, he added 17 runs for the team.

On the other hand, Robin Uthappa played very carefully. He tried to make a partnership with the new batsman, Moeen Ali. But unfortunately, Moeen Ali became run-out very shortly. After that, Uthappa made a brilliant partnership with Shivam Dube. They kept picking runs on the scoreboard. Shivam Dube was very aggressive on the pitch. He hit almost every ball he faced.

However, both batsmen added 135 runs together on the scoreboard. They also picked up a half-century in this match. Robin Uthappa, unfortunately, lost the wicket after scoring 88 runs, while Shivam Dube remained not out in 95 runs. He hit five boundaries and eight over boundaries in this match. Relying on these runs, Chennai Super Kings set a massive target of 217 runs for the RCB.

Chasing a massive target, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost two wickets in the powerplay. Captain Kohli once again failed yesterday to score a big run. He departed after scoring only one run for the team. However, Shahbaz Ahmed and Suyash Prabhudessai tried to save the team. But their effort wasn’t enough to win the match. Their innings ended in 193 runs. So, Chennai Super Kings secured their first victory in the IPL by 23 runs.
