Chennai Super Kings won a dramatic match

Chennai Super Kings is one of the best teams in the Indian Premier League. But they are not in their best form this season, having lost five of their previous seven matches. However, last night they won a dramatic game against Mumbai Indians. The match was decided in the final over as MS Dhoni hit a boundary in the very last ball of the innings. As a result, this victory moves Chennai Super Kings to the 9th at the table. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians failed again to secure their first victory in this tournament. They are the only team who haven’t won a single match so far.

Ravindra Jadeja, the captain of Chennai Super Kings, won the toss at the Mumbai Stadium and decided to bowl first. So, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan started the innings for Mumbai Indians. But both players had to go back to the pavilion without scoring runs. In the first over, Mukesh Choudhary picked up both of them. Moreover, Mukesh Choudhary picked up his 3rd wicket in the 3rd over. As a result, Mumbai Indians lost three wickets in 23 runs.

After that, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma tried to make resistance. But their partnership didn’t sustain for a long time. Suryakumar departed after scoring 32 runs. Then, Tilak Varma made a partnership of 38 runs with the new batsman, Hrithik Shokeen. However, Tilak Varma remained not out in 51 runs. Relying on his bat, Mumbai Indians set a target of 156 runs for the Chennai Super Kings.

Chasing down the target, the CSK also lost their first wicket in the first over. Rituraj Gaikwad had to go back to the pavilion without scoring any run. They lost another wicket in the 3rd over as Mitchel Santner departed after scoring 11 runs. But Robin Uthappa and Ambat Rayudu made a partnership of 50 runs. Their partnership made it easy to chase the target. But the team were under pressure when both of them departed. The following two batsmen also lost wickets quickly. However, MS Dhoni, the former captain, successfully chased the target. Chennai Super Kings needed four runs in the last ball, and MS Dhoni hit a four to win the match. As a result, CSK won the match by 3-wickets.
