The FIFA World Cup is going on, but Cristiano Ronaldo is always at the center of discussion in football. His relationship with Manchester United and the manager, Erik Ten Hag, became very toxic.

In an interview with Pierre Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo said he feels betrayed by Manchester United. The Portuguese heavily criticized the manager and the club. After his interview, Manchester United immediately took action without creating any dramatic scene. By mutual agreement, Manchester United terminated the contract with Cristiano Ronaldo. Therefore, Ronaldo has become a free agent and is open to joining any club.

Ronaldo will join a Saudi club.

Since Ronaldo left Manchester United, there has been a lot of speculation about where he will play after the Qatar World Cup. In the last summer transfer window, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes contracted with many clubs. Unfortunately, the agent got no positive response from those clubs.

It was expected that German club Bayern Munich would sign Ronaldo in the upcoming transfer window. But Bayern’s CEO Oliver Kahn respectfully denied the rumors. He said, “I love Cristiano Ronaldo, a Fantastic player, but every club has a philosophy and I’m not sure if it would be the right signal for Bayern and Bundesliga if we signed him now. Such a move does not necessarily fit with our ideas.”

However, a Spanish daily, The Marca, reported that Cristiano Ronaldo would join a Saudi club named Al-Nassr. “Cristiano Ronaldo will play for Al-Nassr from January 1. The contract that unites the Portuguese footballer with the Saudi team will last two and a half seasons, the Marca reported.

Saudi Arabia is trying to develop their domestic league. They have some financially strong clubs in their league. That is why they want to sign some big names such as Cristiano Ronaldo to make him Saudi’s brand ambassador. To sign Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr have already submitted an offer of a record 200 million euros per season.

Lionel Messi is currently the highest-paid player in the world. His annual salary is 77 million euros. Therefore, Ronaldo’s salary will be more than double that of Lionel Messi.
