Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace in his second debut

The match between Manchester United and Newcastle on Saturday is Ronaldo’s second debut match for Manchester United. The Reds dramatically re-signed him in the summer transfer window, and on Saturday, he played his first game at the Theater of Dreams after 12 years.

Manchester United beat Newcastle 4-1 in Ronaldo’s homecoming match.

Ronaldo scored twice

Before the match started, all the fans were chanting Ronaldo’s name, and the stadium went insane. This is because they got their superstar back after a long twelve years. However, Ronaldo scored the first goal of the game against Newcastle. In the last minute of the first half, Manchester United academy graduate Mason Greenwood took a shoot on the goal. The Newcastle keeper blocked the shot but could not catch it. Cristiano Ronaldo was in the perfect position to tap the ball into the net.

Newcastle equalized in the 52nd minute with a goal from Javier Manquillo. But Ronaldo scored his second goal and helped the Reds taking the lead again.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is having a great season this time. He already provided seven assists in four matches.

He got four assists in the very first game in the EPL. Paul Pogba is the first player to assist four after Harry Kane. Moreover, the French World Cup winner provided two assists in Saturday’s match against the Magpies. Paul Pogba got only four assists in the last season, and he crossed it already in just four games of this season.


After the fourth round, Manchester United hold the top spot in the points table. Moreover, they have strengthened the squad depth. Now, they have chances to win trophies. After the match, Ronaldo told the club media,

“As I told you before, we have huge potential. We have fantastic players, a good coach, a good team. We need to build up the mentality to win the Premier League and even the Champions League“.

When talking to the media, the United boss Ole said,

“I’ve got to say well done to the club and everyone for bringing in players to challenge. We’re bringing competitors, but they’re good people and we have got a good and strong squad.”
