Today, table topper Manchester City will play a crucial match in the English Premier League. They will face Chelsea, who are standing on the 2nd in the league table. The Guardiola boys will welcome the London club at the City of Manchester Stadium. Chelsea FC are already 10 points behind Man City. So, if the Citizens can win today against the Blues, it will become almost impossible to hijack the league title from Man City.

Recent Form

The Citizens are having a great time in the Premier League as well as in the Champions League. They have qualified for the knock-out round in the UCL, having won all the matches in the group. They will face Sporting FC in the next round of this tournament. Moreover, Manchester City have won all of their last five games in the English Premier League. On the other hand, Chelsea have lost their flow of winning games. They won only one match in their previous five games in the league.

Team News

London club Chelsea are facing a difficult time because of the Covid crisis. Some key players of The Blues have been ruled out due to injuries. Andreas Christensen is the new name on the injury list. He has been infected with the coronavirus. Moreover, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will miss the service of Reece James, Ben Chilwell, and Trevoh Chalobah. Those players have been ruled out for the rest of the season due to injuries.

So, Thiago Silva will lead the defense against Man City. Malang Sarr is likely to play as the partner of Silva. However, the Chelsea boss will have the service of N’golo Kante. He trained yesterday with the team.

Thomas Tuchel has had a press conference ahead of this clash. He has talked about the Covid crisis in his team. Tuchel said,

The biggest difference so far in the season as far as I’m concerned is that they dealt better with injuries and the Covid situation. Maybe it’s luck, maybe they do it better, whatever, but they have less injuries from key players, less players out, and less weeks where they miss them. And they did not suffer from Covid as we did over many weeks. So this is a huge difference. Because we had some draws in the season that were unnecessary, and if you have the full squad you create a certain atmosphere that pushes everybody to the edge.
