The 2022-2023 campaign of the English Premier League is about to start. The new season will begin on August 5 with the match between Crystal Palace and Arsenal. However, Manchester United will start their journey to the new season one day after the first game. The Red Devils are playing some friendly matches as part of their pre-season tour. Today, they will take on the Spanish side, Atletico Madrid, in Norway.

Both teams have announced their squad ahead of today’s clash. For Manchester United, Ronaldo will still be missing in this match. As we reported before, Ronaldo has been desperate to leave the club. Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t played a single game since the last season. He missed out on all the five games Man United have played in the pre-season. Today, he will also not be a part of the team. However, Ronaldo can play the game against Rayo Vallecano. In a post on Instagram, he commented, “Sunday, the king plays.”

Anyway, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, the two new signings of Man United, have been included in the 21 men’s squad. Today, they can play for the first time in Man United’s jersey. Scott Mctominay is back again after missing the match against Aston Villa. Furthermore, Erik Ten Hag may continue playing Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford in the front.

Today, Atletico may feature Nahuel Molina, their new signing. The Argentine has joined the Spanish club from Udinese. Axel Witsel has also been included in the squad ahead of the Man United clash. However, Luis Suarez will not be a part of the team as he left Atletico a few days back.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who won 34 trophies (including 13 EPL) for Manchester United, could return to the club in an advisory role. “The Red Devils have handed the 80-year-old legend an official position at the club. Chief executive Richard Arnold has set up a think-tank involving Ferguson to advise United on issues at the club,” according to the Daily Sun.
