The English Premier League is returning Monday with the match between Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur. The following day, Manchester United will be back in action. The Red Devils will host Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

After the world cup break, Manchester United have already played a game in the Carabao Cup, where they defeated Burnley with a 2-0 margin. In this match, Man United missed several players. Unfortunately, they are likely to miss these players in the match against The Forest.

Harry Maguire was absent against Burnley due to illness. The manager is unsure whether Maguire will be available to play next week. Ten Hag said, “I can’t answer because Harry is sick. I don’t know how that develops. We have to wait. Maybe the coming hours, maybe the coming days, and then we will see if he is available for Forest.”

The manager also talked about Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, the two finalists of the World Cup. They haven’t arrived at the club yet. Lisandro Martinez is still in Argentina, celebrating with the team. Erik Ten Hag said, “He[Lisandro Martinez] is still celebrating now in Buenos Aires now, going around in the touring car! Going around in Buenos Aires and I can understand it. It is very emotional when you achieve this World Cup success in your country.

Ten Hag also said, “I think he can also be proud [to have played] again in the final, with all that he has achieved in his football career.”

As for Nottingham Forest, Henderson is ineligible because he is on loan from Manchester United. But Jesse Lingard can play against Man United. Forest boss is expecting Wayne Hennessey to be available for the match as well.
