The Wembley Stadium is waiting to feature the FA Cup final match tonight between Chelsea and Liverpool. Liverpool secured the final by winning a very thrilling game against Manchester City in the semifinal round. Meanwhile, Chelsea FC ensured their place in the final after getting a comfortable victory against Crystal Palace. Liverpool and Chelsea also met in the League Cup finals, in which the Klopp boys defeated Chelsea on penalties to lift the trophy. Tonight’s game will be the second final in the same season for Liverpool and Chelsea.

Records & Stats

Chelsea FC have qualified for the FA Cup Final for the third time in a row. Unfortunately, they couldn’t win the trophy in their previous two finals. This year, they are looking to avoid three consecutive defeats in the final. However, Chelsea met Liverpool in the FA Cup final for the first time in 2012, where the Blues defeated Liverpool by 2-1.

This season, Liverpool and Chelsea met three times in all competitions. Two matches have been drawn between the two teams, and Liverpool won the remaining one in the League Cup final.

Team News

Chelsea have some major injury cases in the squad. Their midfield maestro N’Golo Kante and Matteo Kovacic are in doubt ahead of tonight’s clash.

Kovacic was forced off in the match against Leeds United due to an ankle injury. On the other hand, N’Golo Kante missed the last three games for Chelsea. But the manager is still hopeful for both players. On Liverpool’s side, all the players are fit for the match except Fabinho.

Manager’s thoughts

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has talked about tonight’s final. He said,

I’ve never won the FA Cup before and most of my players have never won it. We are really looking forward to this opportunity. The boys worked their socks off to arrive there with all the different challenges. It is a massive final for us and really happy to be a part of it. It will never happen that we see the FA Cup final as a normal game. It’s a special game, for some of us the biggest in their career and we really want to enjoy that as well. We want to deliver it for our people.
