Only five days left for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Every team has already announced their squad for the biggest show on earth. Today, we would like to talk about Argentina, one of the most favorite teams in this tournament.

Postmortem of the Team Argentina

Team Argentina have been unbeaten in their last 35 matches, making the longest unbeaten run in the current football world. However, they will face the UAE tomorrow. The Albiceleste will break Brazil’s unbeaten record if they defeat the UAE tomorrow. But how do Argentina maintain their superb form throughout the last three years?

After losing in the quarter-final against France in the Russia World Cup, Lione Scaloni took charge of this team. Keeping Lionel Messi at the center of his strategy, Scaloni built a young squad from the start. The manager called some exciting players who play in the top five leagues in Europe. For the last three years, Lionel Scaloni experimented with his squad and found the best possible team for Argentina. Finally, Scaloni announced the 26-men squad for the upcoming world cup.

Formation & Tactics

Manager Lionel Scaloni usually sets up the team formation with 4-3-3. In between the goalposts, Emiliano Martinez is the manager’s first choice. Martinez has been brilliant both for his club and country. He saved a crucial penalty in the semifinal of Copa America to secure a place in the final for Argentina.

In recent world cups, Argentina’s main weakness was their defensive lineup. But this time, the Albiceleste have one of the strongest defensive line-ups in the tournament. Nicholas Otamendi and Christian Romero have already built a strong duo in the center-back position. Moreover, Lisandro Martinez also made him one of the strongest candidates to play in the starting XI. But Argentina’s full-back is comparatively weak.

Rodrigo De Paul, Leandro Parades, and Giovani Lo Celso played together as the midfield trio for the last few years. Unfortunately, Lo Celso has been ruled out due to injury. But Argentina have alternatives to replace Lo Celso. Mac Allister and Enzo Fernandez are favorites to replace him.

Le’s talk about Argentine attacking options. Argentina’s attacking line-up have always been top-class. Like the previous events, the Albiceleste have fantastic attacking players for the Qatar World Cup. Lionel Messi, obviously, will lead the attack. Lautaro Martinez is the favorite to play in the center-forward position. However, Julian Alverez has been playing brilliantly for Manchester City. So, he will be another option for the manager. In the left wing, the manager has Angel Di Maria. Nicholas Gonzalez has played in that position before.

Argentina have many alternatives in one position. And all these players are proven at their clubs. That makes Argentina one of the favorites to win the Qatar World Cup. However, the Albiceleste will start their world cup journey on November 22 against Saudi Arabia.
