As it happened

Manchester United welcomed Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford after a disappointing draw against Newcastle United. So, the Ten Hag boys were desperate to make a good result against the Spurs. Erik Ten Hag set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1, where Marcus Rashford played as the striker, and Jadon Sancho and Antony played behind him as the wingers.

On the Spurs’ side, manager Conte played his team in a 3-5-2 formation. He used three center-backs with two wing-backs. Harry Kane and Son played in the front against the Red Devils.

However, Manchester United were very aggressive from the beginning of the match. They highly pressed the Spurs to find the net. Manchester United kept 60% possession in the first half. Moreover, they fired 19 shots during the opening 45 minutes. But it was Hugo Lloris who kept the Spurs in the match by making some unbelievable saves. So, the first half ended 0-0.

Coming back from the break, Manchester United midfielder Fred found the net in the 47th minute. After that, Tottenham Hotspur tried hard to find the equalizer. But Man United’s defenders were rock solid at the back so the Spurs couldn’t score.

Moreover, Manchester United doubled their lead in the 69th minute. This time, skipper Bruno Fernandes beat Lloris to find the net with Fred’s assist. Tottenham Hotspur couldn’t score in the remaining minutes. Therefore, Manchester United sealed the victory at home with a 2-0 margin.
