The English giant Manchester United are suffering a lot this season. They are about to end another season without getting trophies. Manchester United won their last trophy in the 2016-2017 season under Jose Mourinho. Since then, the Red Devils have been trophyless for five consecutive seasons. This season, Man United failed to qualify for the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League, having been eliminated by Atletico Madrid. Red Devils are also concerned about not qualifying for the next Champions League as they are out of the top four.

Tight Fixtures Ahead

Manchester United have already played 29 games in the English Premier League. Standing on 6th, they earned 50 points from these games. The Red Devils are four points behind the fourth-place team, Arsenal. So, Man United need to win all the remaining matches to keep the hope alive. But, they are heading to a very tight fixture as the Red Devils will face Leicester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool in the coming days. Tomorrow, Manchester United will host Leicester City after a long international break.

Club’s current situations

The Man United board has renewed the contract with the Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes. Considering him a key player, the board renewed his contract for the next five years. So, Bruno will stay in this club until 2026.

On the other hand, the club is still looking for a new manager. Earlier, the board has interviewed Erik Ten Hag, the manager of Ajax. Recently, they have also interviewed Mauricio Pochettino.  But, Ten Hag is leading the race of becoming the manager of Manchester United. Today, he speaks out about it. He said,

There are always talks with people from other clubs. Manchester United is a great club with great fans. But, my full focus is completely on Ajax now. We are already planning for the new season, but in football, you never know. I don’t want to rule anything out. I know that in football everything can change from one day to the next. If at some point I should decide to take the next step, I hope that Ajax people/fans will understand.
