It is no secret that Manchester United are among the most successful clubs in football history. They have won every possible trophy they can. Moreover, Manchester United won the highest number of league trophies in England. The club won the majority of the trophies in the era of Sir Alex Ferguson. But, the Red Devils lost themselves whenever Sir Alex took retirement from the managerial role.
Many managers, then, came and went after the Ferguson era, but the club never recovered its former form. Finally, Manchester United selected Ralf Rangnick as the interim manager after sacking the club legend, Ole Gunner Solskjaer. Now the question is, how far can Manchester United go with the new manager?
Current Situation
Manchester United are in 4th place in the English Premier League. But they cannot stay relaxed as West Ham United and Arsenal are very close to them. West Ham are now only three points behind the Red Devils. But the most concerning matter for the Rangnick boys is Arsenal. The Gunners are in 6th place in the league table, two points behind Manchester United. However, they have only played two matches less than the Red Devils. Therefore, the Gunners have a strong chance of overtaking Manchester United.
On the other side, Man United are about to jump into a very tight fixture ahead. In their next six games, they will play against Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Leicester City, and Everton. These six games will decide the fate of this club this season.
Plans for the future
Manchester United haven’t won a single trophy since 2017. Many times, they were close to winning a silverware but failed. Last year, the club lost the final of the UEFA Europa League against Villarreal. Moreover, they have played four semifinals under the former manager, Ole Gunner Solskjaer. Unfortunately, they failed all the time.
The chances of winning the league title this season are impossible. Now they focused on the UEFA Champions League. Since many strong teams are looking for the same trophy, it will be very difficult for the Red Devils to win it. On the other side, Man United have a great chance to secure the Europa League trophy this season.
