After three-match defeats in a row, the New Zealand Women are back to the winning ways. Today, they have faced the Pakistan Women in Hagley Oval Cricket Stadium, where the White Ferns won by 71 runs. This victory alive the hope for New Zealand of going through the semifinals. They have leveled their points with England and India. But the Kiwis have played one game more than them. So, New Zealand need to win all of their remaining games to go to the semifinal round of the World Cup.

Bismah Maroof, the captain of Pakistan, won the toss and decided to bowl first at Hagley Oval. So, Suzie Bates and the skipper Sophie Devine started the batting innings for New Zealand. They played the first five overs without losing any wickets. They added 31 runs to the scoreboard on these overs. But, the captain had to go back to the pavilion as Anam Amin took the wicket in the 6th over. Sophie scored 12 runs before the departure.
Then, Suzie Bates made a brilliant partnership of 68 runs with the new batter, Amelia Kerr. Both were looking very comfortable on the pitch. Opener Suzie Bates picked up a half-century playing against the Pakistani bowlers. However, their partnership broke in the 19th over as Amelia Kerr lost the wicket after scoring 24 runs. Moreover, Amy Satterthwaite, the new batter, departed without scoring any runs.
On the other hand, Suzie Bates was playing brilliantly. After picking up the half-century, she also got the century and departed in 126 runs. Relying on her bat, New Zealand scored 265 runs from 50 overs. However, Pakistani bowler Nida Dar got three wickets in this match.
Chasing the target, Pakistan started their innings with the two openers, Muneeba Ali and Sidra Amin. They added 39 runs in the opening partnership.
