India beat England in the 4th Test

Despite the poor start of the first innings of the 4th test, India have taken a 2-1 lead in the series by defeating England. India dramatically overcome the bad situation and eventually take control of this test match. At the end of the fourth match of the five-match test series, India is leading 2-1. If they can win the next game, the series will be theirs. However, England have a chance to draw the series in 2-2.

1st Innings of India

England captain Joe Root had won the toss of the Oval test and decided to bowl first. So, India had to bat first. But their starting was not good enough. English bowler Chris Woakes took the wicket of Rohit Sharma in the ninth over. The next two batsmen also couldn’t get enough runs. India lost four wickets between the 69 runs. Then, captain, Virat Kohli took the responsibility to save his team. He scored 50 runs and then had to go back to the pavilion. Indian bowler Shardul Thakur played very important innings. He scored the highest 56 runs for India. But the other batsman could not continue the innings. After getting 191 runs, India became all-out.

Chris Woakes took 4 wickets and Ollie Robinson got 3 wickets for the three lions.

1st Innings of England

England lost their two wickets at the very beginning of the innings. Jusprit Bumrah took both of the wickets in the same over. Dawid Malan then tried to settle down on the pitch. But he could not stay well for long. England scored 290 runs based on Pope’s 81 and Chris Woakes’s fifty runs. However, they took 99 runs leads in the first innings.

Umesh Yadav got three wickets. Both Jadeja and Bumrah got 2 wickets each for the Indian.

2nd Innings of India

India played really well in the second innings. Their batsman started getting runs. Opener Rohit Sharma a superb hundred. He lost his wicket after scoring 127 runs. Not only Rohit played well, but also three other batsmen got a half-century for India. However, India scored 466 runs in the second innings and gave a target of 367 runs to England.

2nd Innings of England

Chasing the target of 367 runs, England were all out for 210 runs. But both openers of England started the innings very well. Both batsmen got fifty for the three lions. It seemed like they are going to chase the run. But after losing the first wicket, no other batsmen could play long innings. Umesh Yadav again got three wickets. Bumrah, Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur got two wickets each.
