India leveled the series with South Africa

What a brilliant comeback India have made against South Africa! After losing the first two of the five-match T20 series, India successfully won the next two games and leveled the series. Yesterday, India faced South Africa in the 4th game of the series, where the home team defeated the Proteas by 82 runs. Dinesh Karthik won the Player of the Match award for his destroying batting display for India.

Match Details

Temba Bavuma, the skipper of South Africa, won the toss in the 4th match and decided to bowl first. So, Rituraj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan came off the pitch to start the innings for India. But, their starting was poor as Rituraj Gaikwad lost his wicket to Lungi Ngidi in the 2nd over. After a while, India lost another batsman. This time, Shreyash Iyer departed the pitch as Anrich Nortje picked the wicket.

However, Ishan Kishan tried to build a partnership. But, he wasn’t lucky enough to do so. After getting LBW in the 7th over, Ishan Kishan had to go back to the pavilion. But before losing the wicket, he scored 27 runs for the team.

After that, Rishab Pant, the skipper, made a partnership with Hardik Pandya. They added 41 runs together on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, the captain couldn’t stay longer. But Hardik Pandya continued scoring runs. He made another brilliant partnership with the new player, Dinesh Kartik. Karthik was very aggressive on the pitch. He scored 55 runs only from 27 balls. Relying on his bat, India set a target of 170 runs for South Africa.

South Africa started their batting innings slowly. Both openers were a bit defensive on the pitch. But, this didn’t resist them from losing the wickets. Quinton de Kock returned to the pavilion after being run out. Moreover, South Africa lost another wicket in the following over as Dwaine Pretorius went back to the dressing room.

In addition, no other batsmen of South Africa scored 30 runs in this match. The highest runs came from Van der Dussen. He picked up 20 runs for the team. The remaining batters of South Africa couldn’t contribute much to win the match. As a result, India won the 4th match by 82 runs.
