There is just one match left in the Caribbean Premier League, where Jamaica Tallawahs will face Barbados Royals in the grand final of the CPL. Barbados Royals went to the final earlier, and Jamaica Tallawahs secured their place in the final after defeating Amazon Warriors by 37 runs. Sharmarh Brooks scored a devastating 109 runs for Jamaica Tallawahs to win this crucial match.

Toss: Shimron Hetmyer, the captain of Amazon Warriors, won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Poor Start of Jamaica Tallawahs

After losing the toss, Jamaica Tallawahs started their batting innings with Brandon King and Kennar Lewis. Unfortunately, both batters failed to get a good start for the team. Kennar Lewis lost his wicket in the very first over, while Brandon King departed the pitch after scoring only six runs.

Sharmarh Brooks and the middle order made the difference

Jamaica Tallawahs lost two early wickets in 16 runs. But Sharmarh Brooks handled the situation very wisely with the new batter, Rovman Powell. Both batters were fantastic on the crease. Together they added 55 runs on the scoreboard. Although Rovman Powell lost his wicket after scoring 37 runs, Sharmarh Brooks kept adding runs.

With Raymon Reifer, Brooks added another 52 runs for Jamaica Tallawahs. Raymon Reifer scored 22 off 22 balls before leaving the crease. On the other side, Sharmarh Brooks kept picking runs with Imad Wasim. Both batsmen remained not out in this match. Brooks picked up a brilliant century and scored 109 off 52 balls, while Imad Wasim added 41 off 15 balls. Relying on their runs, Jamaica Tallawahs scored 226 in 20 overs.

The Warriors failed to get enough runs on the opening wicket

Chasing the massive target, Amazon Warriors couldn’t get enough runs from the opening partnership. They lost their first wicket in the 3rd over as Paul Sterling departed the pitch after scoring two runs.

But, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shai Hope tackled the disaster by adding 31 runs together within a very short time. Both batters were very aggressive on the pitch. Unfortunately, their partnership broke in the 5th over as Rahmanullah Gurbaz lost his wicket to Fabien Allen.

Amazon Warriors lost two more wickets within eight overs as Shai Hope Shakib Al Hasan lost their wickets. After that, Keemo Paul tried hard to get a good result. He scored the highest 56 runs for the Warriors, but it was not enough to win the match. As a result, Jamaica Tallawahs won the match and sealed a place in the final.
