The transfer saga about Kylian Mbappe continues despite the summer window being closed. Spanish giants Real Madrid have been trying to sign Kylian Mbappe for years. During the last summer transfer window, Real Madrid were very confident about getting the France international. Therefore, they made a bid of around 300 million euros for him.

But Paris Saint-Germain turned down this massive offer. The Paris Saint-Germain club convinced Mbappe to stay, and he signed a three-year contract. However, the relationship between Mbappe and PSG has become vulnerable.

In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, the French football expert Julien Laurens made highly controversial comments about Kylian Mbappe, saying that Mbappe feels “betrayed” by PSG. Julien Laurens said, “He feels betrayed by the club in the sense that all the things the club promised him when he signed that new deal until 2025 have not happened.”

Kylian Mbappe has been playing for PSG as a number nine. However, he is not comfortable in this position. He prefers to play as a right-winger. But Neymar Jr plays in this position at PSG. As Mbappe mentioned during the international break, he has more freedom playing for the national team. Mbappe said, “I play differently with France. They ask me to do different things here than at PSG. Here I have much more freedom.”

Mbappe added, “The coach knows that we have Giroud as a ‘9′ who occupies defenses and I can run into the spaces. In Paris it’s different, that doesn’t exist. They ask me to play in the center and it’s different.”

Julien Laurens stated the same thing on BBC Radio 5 Live. “The promises they would sign a new striker so he could play in his best position off the striker, that Neymar wouldn’t be there and he would be sold, that they would sign a centre-back, and he would be at the centre of the project. All of these things have not happened,” said Julien Laurens.

However, PSG’s football advisor Luis Campos ruled out Julien Laurens’s statement. He talked about this issue before the match against Benfica. Campos said, “It’s not a statement from the player, it’s [from the press], and to have such information before a match like this is very serious. That’s why I’m here, to deny and say clearly that Kylian Mbappe has never spoken to me or to the president [Nasser Al-Khelaifi] to leave PSG in January.”
