What a crazy match we witnessed last night! English giants Liverpool made a brilliant comeback against the Spanish side, Villarreal FC, to go through to the final of the UEFA Champions League. Despite conceding two goals in the first half, the Klopp boys successfully returned three goals to win the second leg. With this defeat, the brilliant journey of Villarreal ended in the UEFA Champions League. Although, the Spanish side have written history as they have had their best season ever in the UCL. From the group round to the semifinals, Villarreal beat Juventus and FC Bayern Munich to go to the semifinals. Unfortunately, they couldn’t reach the final as they lost the match to Liverpool by 3-2.

Villarreal welcomed Liverpool FC at the El Madrigal to play the second leg of the semifinals. Villarreal needed to win in a margin of three goals in the second leg as they lost the first leg by 2-0. In this crucial match, Villarreal manager Unai Emery set up his team formation with 4-4-2. On the other side, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp played his team in a 4-3-3 formation.

However, the home team had gone wild as they found the net at the beginning of the match. Forward Boulaye Dia scored the first goal in the 3rd minute with the help of E. Capoue. Scoring the first goal, the home team continued pressing very high. They have had more possession on the ball than Liverpool in the first half.
