English giant Manchester City made a dramatic comeback last night to defeat Tottenham Hotspur at Etihad Stadium. Despite conceding two goals in the first half, Manchester City returned four in the 2nd half to seal the victory against the Spurs.

As it happened

Last night, Manchester City hosted Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. Man City boss Pep Guardiola made some changes in his midfield against the Spurs. The manager benched his midfield maestro, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

However, Pep Guardiola set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1, where Erling Haaland played as the central forward. Jack Grealish, Julian Alvarez, and Riyad Mahrez played just behind the striker. Besides, Antonio Conte played his team in a 3-4-2-1 formation.

As the home team, Man City started dominating from the very first minute. They tried to create chances, keeping more possession under them. But City keeper Ederson made a crucial mistake just before halftime. In the 44th minute, he provided a wrong pass that Kuluseveski converted into a goal.

Within two minutes, The Spurs doubled the lead. This time, Harry Kane took a powerful shot. Ederson blocked that shot, but Emerson found the net with a header. As a result, the Spurs went to the break with a 2-0 load.

But the game totally changed in the second half. Manchester City became desperate in the 2nd half to score goals. They took only six minutes to strike first. Julian Alvarez scored that goal in the 51st minute for Man City.

Scoring that goal, Man City had gone all-out attack against The Spurs. They found the equalizer within two minutes. This time, Erling Haaland scored that goal with the help of Riyad Mahrez.

After that, The Spurs looked broken. Their defensive line became unorganized in the 2nd half. Man City took that advantage and took the lead for the first time in this match. Riyad Mahrez netted the ball in the 63rd minute for the Citizens. Moreover, The Algerian player got his second goal at the very last minute. He scored his 2nd and the team’s 4th goal in the 90th minute. In the end, Manchester City won the match with a 4-2 margin and have gone three points ahead of Man United.
