Manchester United beat Aston Villa just after the four days they lost against the same opponent. Last night, Manchester United took revenge at Old Trafford by defeating Unai Emery’s team in the Carabao Cup and secured a place in the Round of 16. However, Aston Villa scored first, but Manchester United responded well and earned a hard-fought victory at Old Trafford.

In the Carabao Cup, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag made several changes to the squad compared to the league match. Bruno Fernandes, who missed the last league match, started last night against the Villa. Moreover, the manager dropped Cristiano Ronaldo in this match. Last night, Erik Ten Hag set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1. On the other side, Villa’s boss played his team in a 4-4-2 formation.

However, both teams played speedy football from the beginning of the match. Both sides created many chances. Unfortunately, no one found the net in the first half.

But Manchester United’s response was magnificent. The Red Devils found the equalizer within one minute as Anthony Martial scored a goal with the help of Bruno Fernandes.

As a result, the scoreline leveled once again. However, Aston Villa kept pushing the opponents. In the 61st minute, the visitors took the lead again. Man United’s left-back Diogo Dalot failed to clear Baily’s header and put the ball into his own net. Manchester United leveled the scoreline within six minutes. This time, Marcus Rashford beat the Villa goalkeeper to find the net.

In the final 20 minutes, Manchester United dominated the opponents. Garnacho came off the bench in the 61st minute and made a huge impact on the ground. In the 78th minute, Manchester United took the lead for the first time in the match as Bruno Fernandes scored a goal from Garnarcho’s assist.

The Argentine registered another assist when Scott McTominay converted Garnarcho’s cross into a goal in the 91st minute. Therefore, Manchester United sealed the victory and have secured a place in the Round of 16 of the Carabao Cup.
