That is why he demanded to give him time. The club agreed to his demand and has appointed him for three years. Moreover, the club has an option to extend one more year. So, the Dutch coach will stay until 2025 as the manager of Manchester United. However, Man United have to pay around 2 million euros as the release clause to Ajax.
Furthermore, Erik Ten Hag is currently managing Ajax, who are about to win the title of Eredivise. He will complete the current season with the Dutch club, FC Ajax. Then, he will join Man United.
