Manchester United have sealed a comfortable victory against Reading in the FA Cup. Last night, the Red Devils welcomed Reading at Old Trafford, where the Brazilian trio helped Manchester United to win the match by a 3-1 margin.

As it happened

In the FA Cup, Man United hosted Reading last night. Manchester United’s manager Erik Ten Hag rotated his squad in this game. Rather than starting Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, he started Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. Luke Shaw was also on the bench, and instead of him, Tyrell Malacia played in the left-back.

Erik Ten Hag set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1, where Reading boss played his team in a 5-3-2 formation. The visiting team’s manager was more focused on defending.

However, Manchester United created some crucial chances from the beginning of the match, keeping more possession. Antony showed some of his skill against Reading. Anyway, the combination between Antony and Aaron Wan Bissaka has become better day by day. Last night, this pair looked very threatening against Reading. In spite of those chances, Manchester United failed to score in the first half.

Returning from the break, Man United became more organized. Therefore, they didn’t have to wait much in the 2nd half to score a goal. The Brazilian pair, Antony and Casemiro, helped Man United to take the lead. In the 54th minute, Antony supplied a fantastic through-pass to Casemiro, and guess what? Casemiro defeated Reading’s goalkeeper with a beautiful chip and found the net.

After that, Manchester United doubled their lead within four minutes. This time, Casemiro once again found the net for the Red Devils. His powerful shot outside from the box found the net in the 58th minute.

Scoring two goals, Manchester United kept pushing the visitors. Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes provided some crucial passes into the final third. However, in the 66th minute, Bruno’s cross found Fred inside the box. Fred wasted no time and scored a brilliant goal. That is how Manchester United took a three-goal lead in the 2nd half. Anyway, Reading returned a goal as Salif Mbengue found the net in the 72nd minute with a header. But it helped nothing but reduce the goal differences. In the end, Manchester United won the match by a 3-1 margin.
