Manchester City got a lifeline against West Ham United

Manchester City made a dramatic comeback against West Ham United at London Stadium. After conceding two goals in the first half, the Guardiola boys successfully returned two goals to level the scoreline. So, the match became a draw between Man City and West Ham United. As a result, Liverpool will still remain one point behind the Citizens if they win against Southampton. However, Manchester City just need to win their last match in the league against Aston Villa to become the champion of the English Premier League.

Tonight, West Ham United have hosted Manchester City at their home ground, London Stadium. Man City were three points ahead of their closest rival, Liverpool. So, the Guardiola boys just needed to continue their winning run to lift the trophy.

In this match, Man City boss Pep Guardiola set up the team formation with 4-3-3. He used Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez along with Gabriel Jesus. On the other hand, the home team manager played his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

However, the home team tried not to concede early in the match. They defended very carefully so that Man City couldn’t create enough chances in the first half. Moreover, West Ham United stunned the visitors in the 24th minute as Jarrod Bowen scored a brilliant goal with the help of Pablo Forlan.

Conceding the goal, Manchester City tried very hard to find the equalizer but failed to score in the remaining minutes. Furthermore, they conceded another goal just before the halftime. Jarrod Bowen scored again as West Ham United doubled the lead in the 45th minute.

Returning from the break, Manchester City became so desperate to get points from this match. They fought for their lives to find the net. As a result, Jack Grealish scored their first goal in the 49th minute. After that goal, the home team looked a bit shaky. They lost the tempo in the second half. In the 85th minute, Manchester City got a massive chance. West Ham defender Dawson fouled Gabriel Jesus inside the box. As a result, the match referee offered a penalty kick to the Citizens. Riyad Mahrez took that kick, but he missed the great opportunity from the spot-kick. So, the match ended in a 2-2 tie as both teams couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes.
