English giant Manchester United are finally getting very close to getting their long-awaited target, Antony. After getting two bids rejection, the Red Devils are confident about signing the Brazilian talent. According to some strong sources, Manchester United have reached an agreement with Ajax for Antony.

Why do Man United want Antony so desperately?

Erik Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has been looking for many players since he joined the club. During this transfer window, the manager completed the signing of Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, and Lisandro Martinez. But his priority was to sign Frankie de Jong, which seems impossible now in the remaining four days of the summer transfer window.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo is still looking for teams. Therefore the manager benched him in the previous two matches and deployed Marcus Rashford as the striker. Elanga played as the winger in those matches, but the manager believes Man United need more wingers, who are suitable for the club. As a result, Man United aimed to sign Antony from Ajax as soon as possible.

Antony is also desperate to join Man United. But, Ajax have been insisting that Antony is not for sale. They rejected two bids around €60m and €80m from Manchester United. But Antony kept pushing Ajax to sell him. While speaking to Fabrizio Romano, Antony said, “In June of this year, I interrupted my vacation and came personally to inform the managers of Ajax, including the new coach, about my wish to leave and that they should consider this possibility, because it was a project for 2 seasons.” “During the window months, meetings continued and I also received a proposal from Ajax for contract renewal. I made it clear once again: I WANT TO LEAVE.”

However, Manchester United never gave up on Antony. Last night, they submitted a new proposal of €100m, which Ajax couldn’t refuse. The official announcement is yet to come. But, the coming hours will be a key factor for all parties. Today, the Ajax manager is not happy to let Antony leave. He said, “Everything is about money. I think this is sad. But this is our world. It’s very sad and I don’t approve that these things at all.”
