Match Report

As it was a friendly match, both managers of the two clubs experimented a lot. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp started his bench in the first half. Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag played a comparatively strong lineup in the first half. He set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1.

However, Liverpool dominated the first ten minutes. They looked more threatening whenever they got the ball. But Manchester United became stable after some time. They took the lead in the 12th minute as Jadon Sancho scored a brilliant goal for Man United. Scoring the goal, Manchester United became more aggressive. They doubled their lead in the 30th minute. This time, Brazil international Fred found the net with a beautiful chip shot.

Three minutes later, Manchester United hit again. Martial, who returned to the club after completing a loan session at Sevilla, scored that goal in the 33rd minute. However, both teams couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes of the first half. As a result, the first half ended in 3-0.

Returning from the break, both managers changed the entire team. Klopp changed his full squad. He deployed Mo Salah, Alexandre Arnold, and many more. Meanwhile, Ten Hag deployed his bench squad in the second half. Liverpool played relatively better in the second half. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find the net. Moreover, Man United scored another goal as Facundo Pellistri found the net with the help of Amad Diallo. As a result, Manchester United got a massive victory against Liverpool with a goal margin of 4-0.

Manager’s View

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag is pleased with his team’s performance. But he is also aware of the errors. He said,

It will take a lot of time. Believe me. I’ve seen a lot of mistakes. Liverpool played three teams, and they were not at their strongest. We have not overestimated this result.
