Two of the most successful teams in English football, Manchester United and Liverpool, will face each other on Sunday. Manchester United will welcome Liverpool at Old Trafford tomorrow. It will be the first clash of the season between the two teams. Both Manchester United and Liverpool have won in their last games in the UEFA Champions League. So, this match is going to be an exciting match for sure.

Controversy over Ronaldo and Salah

There has been a lot of controversy about Salah and Ronaldo ahead of this match. Both of them are the key players for both teams. They are also performing well for their respective teams. Mohammad Salah has already scored 12 goals in 11 appearances for Liverpool. He also scored twice in the match against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored six goals since he rejoined Manchester United in the summer transfer window. Like Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo also scored the winning goal for Manchester United against Atalanta.

The two managers of the two teams were asked about the similarities between Salah and Ronaldo. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp recently said that Salah is the best player right now. He talked about Salah and Ronaldo at the press conference. Klopp said, 

Why should we compare? Both are world-class. I would say Mo’s left foot is better, Cristiano may be better in the air and with his right foot. Speed-wise, both are quick and desperate to score goals but I’m not too interested in comparing, sorry.

On the other hand, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has talked about the controversy as well. At the press conference, Ole said,

I’ll always back Cristiano in any competition. He’s unique and his goal-scoring record is fantastic. That being said, Salah is on fire at the moment and when you see some of the goals he has scored lately, we know we have to be at our best to defend against him.

Team News

The home team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fears not having a full squad in the match against Liverpool. Some key players are in doubt ahead of the Sunday clash. Raphael Varane has been ruled out due to injury. Moreover, Bruno Fernandez is still in doubt. But the good news for the fans of Manchester United is Anthony Martial is back from injury and ready to play the game.
