Juventus suffered a big blow in the middle of the season. They had been deducted 15 points by the Italian soccer court. This resulted in Juventus falling to 15th place, which was a serious setback. But the Old Lady is trying hard to enter into the top six. Last night, Juventus sealed a comfortable victory against Salernitana by a 3-0 margin.

As it happened

Last night, Juventus traveled to Stadio Arechi to play against the home team, Salernitana. Juventus boss Max Allegri set up the team formation with 3-5-2. The manager played three center-backs and two full-backs. Angel Di Maria and Dusan Vlahovic led the attack for the Old Lady. On the other hand, Davide Nicola played his team in a 4-3-3 formation.

Salernitana, as the home team, got tremendous support from the audience. They tried to keep more possession against Juventus. But the visitors looked very threatening whenever they got the ball. In the 25th minute, Juventus won a penalty as Nicolussi fouled Miretti inside the box. Dusan Vlahovic scored from that spot kick to help Juventus take the lead.

After that, Juventus dominated the home team. They created some crucial chances in the first half. Finally, the Old Lady doubled their lead just before the half-time whistle. This time, Filip Kostic netted the ball with the help of Vlahovic.

Juventus, however, got their third goal in the very early of the 2nd half. Dusan Vlahovic netted his 2nd goal of the match to make the scoreline 3-0. After that, Salernitana tried hard to score one, but Juventus defended very well in the remaining minutes. In the end, the Old Lady secured a comfortable victory to climb up to 10th place.

Allegri’s reaction

Juventus manager Max Allegri was very pleased to secure the victory. He said, “The lads responded well and had a good 60 minutes. After going 3-0 up, we were a little more sloppy and they got too many shots away. We need to improve on that and do better than we did in that phase of the game.”

The manager added, “Today, it was a must-win game. In terms of our objectives, we are focused on getting into the top half of the table.”
