Milan Derby: AC Milan beat Inter at San Siro

The classic Milan derby ended with a thrilling win for AC Milan. Despite conceding first, AC Milan defeated their biggest rival, Inter Milan, with a 3-2 margin. As a result, AC Milan are now in 2nd place with 11 points, the same as Napoli. Meanwhile, Inter Milan slipped down to 6th place after the defeat. They have also suffered two defeats in their previous five games in Serie A. But AC Milan haven’t lost yet after five matches in the league.

As it happened

Both Inter Milan and AC Milan faced off last night at the San Siro Stadium. Stefano Pioli, the manager of AC Milan, set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1. He used Oliver Giroud as the center-forward, while Rafael Leao and Messias played as the two wingers.

On the other side, Inter Milan’s boss Inzaghi played his team in a 3-5-2 formation, where the manager used two wing-backs with three center-backs.

Both teams were very aggressive from the start of the game. They created a lot of chances in the first half. But, Inter Milan were the first to score in this match. Midfielder Marcelo Brozovic scored the opening goal in the 21st minute. However, AC Milan took only seven minutes to find the equalizer. Rafael Leao, the Portuguese forward, scored a stunning goal in the 28th minute for AC Milan. After that, the scoreline remained the same as both teams couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes of the first half.

Returning from the break, AC Milan hit first. This time, Oliver Giroud scored the goal in the 54th minute with the help of Rafael Leao. AC Milan had gone wild after taking the lead. They scored another one within six minutes. This time, Rafael Leao found the net once again to make it 3-1.

However, Inter Milan never gave up on this match. They made this clash more competitive by scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Inter’s striker Edin Dzeko found the net with Darmian’s assist. But AC Milan defended very well in the remaining minutes. As a result, the match ended in a 3-2 victory for AC Milan.
