Match Report

Last night, the Czech Republic welcomed Portugal in the Sinobo Stadium. Fernando Santos, the manager of Portugal, played a very strong lineup against the home team. He set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1, where Cristiano Ronaldo played as the center forward. The manager deployed Bruno Fernandez, Raphael Leao, and Bernardo Silva just behind Ronaldo. On the other hand, the home team’s manager played his team in a 3-4-3 formation.

Right from the start, both teams appeared determined to take the lead. They equally created some crucial chances in the first half. But, Portugal eventually took control of the match. They kept more possession on the ball. However, Portugal had to wait until 33 minutes to find the net. Manchester United’s Portuguese right-back Diogo Dalot scored a stunning goal in the 33rd minute with the help of Raphael Leao.

By scoring the first goal, Portugal became more confident and kept pressing the opponents. As a result, they doubled their lead just before the break. In the 45+2 minute, Bruno Fernandes beat the Czech Republic’s goalkeeper to find the net. Therefore, Portugal went to the break with a two-goal lead.

Coming back from the interval, the home team tried hard to return a goal. Unfortunately, they failed to break Portugal’s defense. Portugal’s defense was rock solid yesterday. However, the visitors got another goal as Diogo Dalot scored his second and team’s third goal in the 52nd minute. Diogo Jota scored another one in the final ten minutes. With the help of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jota scored that goal for Portugal. Thus, they achieved a brilliant victory and now stand at the top of the table.
