Premier League: Sunday Night Results

Only two matches have been played in the English Premier League on Sunday night. Manchester City played against Everton, where they won by 3-0 goals. Later, Tottenham have won against Leeds United despite conceding the first goal at their home ground.

Manchester City VS Everton

Manchester City welcomed Everton last night at Etihad Stadium. The home team manager, Pep Guardiola, made some changes in the starting XI. He replaced Kevin de Bruyne with Rodri Hernandez in the playing XI. On the other side, Everton boss Rafael Benitez set up the formation of 4-4-1-1 against Man City.

However, Manchester City were very dominant from the beginning of the game. They pushed highly to find the net. But Manchester City had to wait until 44 minutes to score their first goal. Rahim Sterling scored that goal from the assist of Joa Cancelo.

In the second half, Manchester City scored early. They doubled their lead with a goal from Rodri Hernandez. On the other side, Everton tried so hard to equalize. But they could not break the City defense. They only took one shot to the target in the whole match. Moreover, Everton conceded the third goal in the 86th minute. Bernardo Silva scored the third goal for the blues.

With this win, Manchester City climb up to 2nd place in the point table. They are just three points behind the table topper Chelsea. On the other hand, Everton went down to 11th on the table. They have lost four of their last five league games as well.

Tottenham VS Leeds United

Leeds United visited Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday night. Tottenham’s new boss Antonio Conte set up the formation of 3-4-2-1 against the Bielsa boys. He used three center-backs and two wing-backs last night.

On the other side, Marcelo Bielsa set the formation with 3-3-3-1. However, Leeds United took the lead first as Daniel James scored in the 44th minute. Leeds United controlled the first half with the aggression. They took 18 shots in the entire match.

Anyway, Tottenham equalized at the beginning of the first half. Pierre Hojbjerg found the net in the 55th minute. Within ten minutes, Tottenham doubled their lead. This time Sergio Reguilion scored for Tottenham.
