Rajasthan Royals have climbed up to the top of the table

Rajasthan Royals have climbed up to the top of the table after winning the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Last night, they beat the RCB by 29 runs. As a result, Rajasthan surpassed Gujarat Titans with 12 points to go on the top. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore continued losing matches. They have lost two matches in a row and are now in 5th place.

Match Report

Faf du Plessis, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, won the toss and decided to bowl first. Almost all captains have chosen to bowl first after winning the toss this season. However, Josh Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal started the inning for Rajasthan Royals. But they couldn’t add notable runs in the opening partnership as Devdutt Padikkal lost the wicket in the second over. Then, Buttler tried to make a partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin. The new batsman started hitting from the first ball he faced. He added 17 runs from 9 balls only. But his innings ended in the 4th over. Moreover, Josh Buttler departed in the following over, scoring only eight runs.

After losing three wickets in five overs, Rajasthan’s captain Sanju Samson made a brilliant partnership of 35 runs with Daryl Mitchell. The skipper scored 27 runs before losing the wicket. However, Riyan Parag played a very crucial innings for Rajasthan. He added a very fruitful 56 runs and remained not out. Rajasthan Royals set Bangalore a target of 145 runs with these runs.

Chasing the target, Royal Challengers Banglore lost their first wicket in the 2dn over. Virat Kohli, the former captain, again failed to contribute to the team. He departed the crease after scoring only 9 runs. Then, Faf du Plessis tried to make a resist with the new batsman, Glenn Maxwell. But their resistance didn’t last long. The skipper had to go back to the pavilion after scoring the highest 23 runs for the team. Glenn Maxwell also departed in the same over. After their departure, the remaining batsmen of Royal Challengers Bangalore couldn’t score enough to win the match. They became all out in 115 runs. As a result, the Rajasthan Royals won the match by 29 runs and moved to the top of the table.
