The Spanish giant, Real Madrid, are very close to winning the league title this season. They go eight points clear of the second team in the point table. The Los Blancos are standing on the top of the table with 63 points, while Sevilla are in 2nd place with 55 points. Real Madrid made the difference with Sevilla by winning the match against Real Sociedad last night. However, this season, the Los Blancos are likely to be La Liga champions if nothing miraculous happens in the remaining 11 matches.

Real Madrid 4-1 Real Sociedad

Last night, Real Madrid welcomed Real Sociedad at Santiago Bernabeu to play the 27th league match. The home team manager, Carlo Ancelotti, played his usual formation in this match. He set up the team formation with 4-3-3. However, Ancelotti had to change a player in the midfield. The German midfielder Tony Kroos has been ruled out due to a groin injury. So, the manager replaced him with the young lad, Eduardo Camavinga. On the other side, the Sociedad manager played his team in a 4-4-2 formation.

However, the visitors silenced the entire stadium by scoring an early goal. In the 9th minute, Madrid defender Dani Carvajal fouled David Silva, the former Manchester City player, inside the box. As a result, the match referee offered a penalty kick to the visitors.  Sociedad skipper Mikel Oyarzabal took the kick and made no mistake. So, the visitor took the lead in ten minutes.

Conceding the goal, the Ancelotti boys became very aggressive. But they had to wait until 40 minutes to find the equalizer. Midfielder Camavinga netted the ball in the 40th minute for the home team. Moreover, Real Madrid took the lead within three minutes with a brilliant goal from Luka Modric. So, the first half ended in a 2-1 margin.

Returning from the break, the home team looked more dangerous. They created many chances in the second half. Finally, they scored the third goal in the 76th minute from a penalty kick. The kick was taken by Karim Benzema. Three minutes later, they netted another goal. This time, Marco Asensio found the net for the home team. However, the visitors couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes, so Real Madrid sealed the victory on their home ground.
