Match Review

Real Madrid welcomed FC Valencia at Santiago Bernabeu. In this match, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti set up his team formation with 4-3-3.  He played Karim Benzema as the center-forward alongside Vinicius Junior and Marco Asensio. On the other side, the Valencia boss played his team in a 4-4-2 formation.

Both teams played decent football in the first half. The host had to wait until 43 minutes to score the first goal. In the 42nd minute, Valencia defender M. Diakhaby fouled Casemiro inside the box. As a result, the referee offered the home team a penalty kick. Karim Benzema took that kick and made no mistake. So the first half ended in 1-0.

Returning from the break, Real Madrid took full control of the match. They dominated everywhere on the field. Besides, Luka Modric and Tony Kroos provided the ball in the front from midfield. As a result, the home team doubled their lead in the 52nd minute as Vinicius Jr. found the net.

Ten minutes later, the Brazilian winger hit again. Vinicius scored the third goal for the Los Blancos. Anyway, the visitors became messy in the second half. They couldn’t create big chances. But they returned a goal in the 76th minute.

However, that goal wasn’t enough to come back to this game. Moreover, they conceded the 4th goal in the 88th minute. Madrid striker Karim Benzema scored that goal with the help of F. Mendy. So after 90 minutes, Real Madrid won the match with a 4-1 margin at Santiago Bernabeu.

On the other side, FC Barcelona have dropped points at Los Carmenes earlier. They have drawn against Granada with a 1-1 tie. However, Barcelona scored first, but conceded at the last moment. Luuk de Jong netted the only goal for the visitors, while the home team returned that one in the 89th minute. As a result, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
