FC Barcelona have lost another El Clasico match. Last night, they met with their biggest rival, Real Madrid, at King Fahad International Stadium. It was the semi-final match of the Spanish Super Cup, where the Los Blancos beat Barca by a 3-2 goal margin. With this victory against Barcelona, Real Madrid have won five El Clasico games in a row. The Catalan club won the last El Clasico in 2018. Since then, they haven’t won a single game against the Los Blancos.
Last night, Real Madrid and Barcelona faced off in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup at King Fahd Stadium. It was the first El Clasico for Xavi Hernandez as the manager of Barca. In this match, Xavi played his team in a 4-3-3 formation. However, Ferran Torres made his debut through this match. He joined FC Barcelona from Manchester City this transfer window.
On the other side, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti also set up the team formation with 4-3-3. In the front, he used Karim Benzema along with Vinicius Junior and Marco Asensio. As a result, the match went to the extra time as both teams couldn’t score before 90 minutes. Both Barca and Real desperately tried to take the lead. However, the Ancelotti boys managed to do it. In the 98th minute, Federico Valverde scored the third goal of Real with the help of Rodrygo. That goal earned the victory as Barca couldn’t score in the remaining minutes. As a result, Madrid went to the final of the Spanish Super Cup.
