Piers Morgan interviewed Cristiano Ronaldo for TalkTV, released on Sunday night. In this interview, Cristiano Ronaldo heavily criticized Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick, and many more. Ronaldo admits he doesn’t respect manager Erik Ten Hag and feels the club betrayed him. Here’s what Ronaldo said in the interview.

“I feel BETRAYED,” said Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United in 2021 under Ole Gunner Solskjaer. He performed well in his first season. But the Portugal international is not getting enough game time at Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag. In response to a question about whether United’s hierarchy wanted him out, Ronaldo said, “Yes, not only the coach (Ten Hag), but another two or three guys around the club. I felt betrayed, yes I feel betrayed, and I felt some people don’t want me here, not just this year, but last year too.”

Ronaldo doesn’t respect Erik Ten Hag

Since Erik Ten Hag took charge of Manchester United, Ronaldo has not been getting enough game time. The manager benched him in many games. Moreover, Erik Ten Hag punished Ronaldo by dropping him out of the squad for one match.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo heavily criticized Erik Ten Hag. Ronaldo said, “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t respect me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”

Ronaldo also criticized Ralf Rangnick. “After the club sacked Ole, they bring sporting director Ralf Rangnick, which is something nobody understands,” Ronaldo said. “This guy, he is not even a coach. A big club like Manchester United brings a sporting director surprised not only me but all the world.”

On rejoining Manchester United

In 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus. Many clubs offered him during the summer transfer window of 2021. But he was really close to joining Manchester City.

But Sir Alex Ferguson called him and convinced him to rejoin Manchester United. Ronaldo said, “I followed my heart. He (Sir Alex) said to me, ‘It’s impossible for you to come to Manchester City’, and I said, ‘OK, Boss, I’m coming back.”

Future of Ronaldo at Man United

It is almost impossible for Ronaldo to stay at Manchester United after saying all these things. He wanted to leave the club in the last summer transfer window, but Man United didn’t receive a proper offer for him.

However, things have become more complicated after Ronaldo’s interview. The fans had probably seen Ronaldo’s last game. It is very likely to see Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club in the January Transfer Window.
