Cristiano Ronaldo’s brilliant performance against Norwich City keeps the hope alive for Manchester United to go to the top four. Last night, the Portuguese superstar scored a hat-trick to rescue the Red Devils from losing points. His hat-trick helped Manchester United to win the game by 3-2 at Old Trafford. However, this victory moves the Red Devils to 5th place in the point table. They are just three points behind the fourth team, Tottenham Hotspur.

Last night, Manchester United welcomed Norwich City at Old Trafford. Man United boss Ralf Rangnick made some changes in the squad. Surprisingly, the manager kept Jessy Lingard in the starting XI for the second time this season. However, Rangnick set up the team formation with 4-3-3. He played Cristiano Ronaldo as the center-forward. On the other hand, Norwich’s boss played his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Anyway, the home team took the lead early in the match. Cristiano Ronaldo scored that goal in the 7th minute with the help of Anthony Elanga. It was a defensive error of Norwich City as Elanga beat Gibson to pick the ball inside the box. Then he passed it to Ronaldo, and Ronaldo didn’t miss it

The second goal also came in the first half. It was Ronaldo again, who made it two for Manchester United. Ronaldo converted the corner kick of Alex Telles into a goal with a brilliant header. As a result, the home team doubled their lead in the first half. However, Norwich City returned one just before the halftime. Kieran Dowell found the net for the visitors in the 45th minute with the help of Teemo Pukki.

Returning from the break, the Canaries made the match more exciting. They leveled the scoreline with Man United. In the 52nd minute. Teemu Pukki found the net for Norwich City. The visiting team also played better in the second half than the home team. Unfortunately, all their effort didn’t work out because of the heroic performance of Ronaldo. In the 76th minute, Man United got a free-kick. Ronaldo took that kick, and guess what? He scored a stunning goal from the spot to complete his 60th career hat-trick. Moreover, he scored from a free kick after almost two years. However, the visitors couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. As a result, Manchester United won the match and have come closer to the top four.
