Match Report
English giant Liverpool FC have been suffering in the league since the start of the season. They are out of the top four so far. Last night, Liverpool FC faced Tottenham Hotspur in a crucial match at the Spurs Stadium.
Liverpool needed to win this game to get closer to the top four. Therefore, Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp played his best possible XI against the Spurs. He set up the team formation with 4-1-2-1-2. On the other hand, the home team missed the service of Son Heung-min due to an injury. So, Antonio Conte played his team in a 5-3-2 formation.
From the start, Liverpool tried to dominate the home side. Mohammad Salah scored an early goal to take the lead. In the 11th minute, Mo Salah found the net with the help of Darwin Nunez.
After that, both sides played equally well, creating many chances. However, Liverpool were successful in finding the back of the net again. Mohammad Salah scored again for Liverpool to double the lead over the home team.
Anyway, Tottenham Hotspur returned a goal after coming back from the break. Harry Kane beat Alisson with a powerful header to find the net for the Spurs. Unfortunately, the home side couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. So, the game ended with Liverpool winning at Spurs Stadium, securing their first away victory.
Klopp’s Reaction
Manager Jurgen Klopp praised his player for showing a winning attitude. In a post-match press conference, Klopp said, “Look, this is a completely normal game for us. Last year we nearly won all four competitions, but drew twice against Tottenham, so winning here is incredibly difficult.”
Klopp added, “What we have to show is that we are not punched too hard when you concede a goal. I liked that tonight; I didn’t want to concede a goal, but I thought the reaction afterward was good. Of course, the opponent’s stadium back and everything, it’s really difficult, but everybody was 100 per cent in and threw everything in and that’s what I liked the most.”
