We have entered the Deadline Day of the January Transfer Window. The Deadline Day started with big shocking news. Manchester City’s Portuguese player Joao Cancelo is about to leave the English side to join German Champion Bayern Munich.

Joao Cancelo signed for FC Bayern

Joao Cancelo, one of the top performers at Manchester City, is heading forward to join FC Bayern Munich on a shocking loan move. After the FIFA World Cup, the relationship between Joao Cancelo and Pep Guardiola became complicated.

Pep Guardiola is famous for rotating the squad. However, if you bench one of the top performers, you won’t be appreciated. That is what exactly happened at Manchester City. Pep Guardiola didn’t give Cancelo enough game time, and as a result, Joao Cancelo was fuming.

Cancelo started three out of their last ten games under Guardiola. The lack of game time makes the Portugal international angry at the club. He threatened to leave Manchester City, and the club has given the green light.

However, things got complicated when Joao Cancelo found out he wasn’t playing against Arsenal in the FA Cup match. He argued with manager Pep Guardiola. Moreover, the player bust-up with the manager in the training ground.

Finally, Joao Cancelo left the Citizens and signed for the German giant FC Bayern Munich. He will play for the German club until the end of the season. But Bayern Munich have the €70m buying option if they want to sign him in the summer.

Bayern Munich have been looking for a right-back as Benjamin Pavard is about to leave the club. Now they have one of the best right-backs in the world. On the other hand, Manchester City will look for a replacement on the Deadline Day. But, Pep Guardiola said he has enough options in the squad.

However, we may witness the record-breaking transfer today in the EPL. Chelsea FC have been trying to sign Argentine world cup winner Enzo Fernandez. They have agreed to pay €120 million in installments for Enzo. Now it’s up to Benfica.
